There’s a guy called Hugh Macleod who blogs about a wine called Stormhoek and “He’s kind of a big deal”, as his Ron-ness would say. To promote the wine he’s organising 100 Geek Dinners, when he gives wine to dinner parties organised by geeks. Simple but very effective.
Now the wine is South African, made by a Kiwi, most of it is drunk in California, but how about we have the first Freak Dinner. And how about we have it in when we have dinner in Bordeaux?
20, 40, 60, 80, 100 Kill Cancer Rally drivers fancy dressed to the nines tasting fresh wine in the heart of the Gascogne. Hell, it’s a bit like Google releasing free spreadsheets just to wind up Microsoft (and I think that comparison probably does confirm that I’m more geek than freak) but it might be quite fun.
